Typically, after extensive focus on the direction of economic activity combined with a assessment of where we are specifically in the business cycle, we determine the appropriate asset, sector and industry mix and balance. Our investment posture is consistently conservative and defensive; as such, we historically outperform in declining markets to a far greater degree than we do in rising markets.
